Welcome to my online Gaelic pages. I'm in the process of sorting out some beginners' info but in the meantime have a browse through the proverbs. If you know any good Gaelic proverbs, add them to the lists or create your own list.
I've added a section on Idioms where you can find out all about these interesting language points. I think this is the most confusing aspect of learning Gaelic. You can have as much vocabulary as you like but if you can't idiomise with the locals then you're lost! In this section, you can browse idioms for each verb or add your own. If you decide to contribute, you can fill in your details and be notified when others contribute too!
If you're looking for a good distance learning course for Gaelic, have a look at the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig one - An Cùrsa Inntrigidh. It lasts 10 months and takes you up to first year degree level in Gaelic! You can do it all from home too. Sabhal Mòr also run very good short courses over the summer too, each one lasting a week and including a day trip to a native speaking part of Skye or Raasay.
